Engineering & IT work abroad

IT and software work across Qatar, Micronesia and the Philippines: CAD automation, internal tools, infrastructure and support for engineering firms, a manufacturer and a national agency.

Problem

Engineering consultancies and a national social security agency needed dependable infrastructure and software that fit how their people worked, usually with a small IT team and remote sites to cover.

Approach

At MZP and Neo Spectrum in Doha I built AutoCAD and Revit plugins and in-house tools that automated drafting and document work, and ran servers, networks, backups and the helpdesk. At the FSM Social Security Administration I managed IT operations and disaster recovery. At Essilor I wrote MIS software for lens manufacturing. Published work includes the Whitemud online manual, the Neo Spectrum corporate site, and support guides for Shopify errors, browsers and AeroAdmin remote support.

Outcome

Systems and documentation that teams relied on every day, and the operational discipline that CoreOps and SCM are built on.
