Shopify operations engineering

Shopify automation for TinapaIsLife: order sync, inventory logic, fulfillment, and transfer and receiving workflows that recover on their own when an API call fails.

Problem

Orders, stock and fulfillment had to stay consistent across Shopify, the warehouse and the ERP. Missed webhooks, rate limits and manual adjustments caused drift between what the store showed and what was on the shelf.

Approach

I treat Shopify as an event source and build every integration to be idempotent. Webhooks are verified, de-duplicated and queued, and a scheduled reconciler picks up anything that was missed. Inventory moves are recorded as transfers with receiving steps instead of direct edits, and storefront changes go where they reduce support load.

Outcome

Store inventory, fulfillment status and ERP records stay aligned, and integration failures recover on the next cycle instead of needing manual clean-up.
